Two awnings both labeled "galvanized steel" can differ nearly two-fold in cost if the wall thickness is 0.8mm versus 1.5mm. At Pengcheng Outdoor, every frame uses hot-dip galvanized tubing from 20mm to 40mm in diameter, with wall thickness specified according to your span and wind load requirements. Always ask the supplier to specify both tube diameter and wall thickness, not just the total price.
Choose PVC-coated polyester of at least 600g/m², and make sure the seams are heat-welded rather than stitched. At our factory in Tangshan, we stock blue, white and grey PVC tarpaulin in our own raw-material warehouse and use large-format heat-sealing equipment to weld the seams — no needle holes, no water leakage.
How the awning is anchored determines whether it survives a storm. Use chemical anchor bolts on concrete, ballast plates or ground anchors on soft soil, and add diagonal braces in wind-prone regions. Measure twice: once across the width you need to cover, and once from the wall out to the farthest point you need shade. Add a 30cm margin.
